What is your band's name? How did you come up with that name?

NETHERION

Band's name is Netherion and its a combination of two words, Nether + ion. Nether stands for the nether world, the lost world or the place spirits goes to after they depart the flesh in most myths. Ion is the center of the atom and the term stands for the center. Netherion means the center of decay and we came up with the name to describe the state of decay the world is drowning in.

Cold Nihility - Lead Guitar
Rusty Shalaq - Rhythm Guitar
Mhd Ess - Bass
Fadi Massamiri - Drums

How would you describe your sound. What makes you unique?

NETHERION

Our sound is simply us! Our words and ideas mixed with our ethnics and beliefs about freedom by all means. Maybe it is unique because it stems from the heart of each member.

What bands have influenced each of you?

NETHERION

Cold is influanced by several old school death metal bands such as Avulsed also by many technical death metal bands such as Necrophagist, Nile, and Decapitated.
Rusty the rhythm guitarist and Mhd the bassist are influenced by progressive bands such as Dream Theater and Opeth.
Fadi the drummer and I share the same influences, almost. We got affected by Edge of Sanity, Opeth, Ihsahn, Devin Townsend, Deicide, and several black metal bands.

How experienced are you on the stage, a virgin or whore?

NETHERION

A virgin, but experienced enough to perform many professional shows when we get the chance.

NETHERION

Wacken open air festival and with all the bands we were influenced by.

Do you have a street team and how can you join?

NETHERION

On Facebook we have a Netherion Worldwide Fan Club / Street Team page ran by our good friend DeAnna from Brutiful Metal Radio in the USA (she loves us *as told by DeAnna*). We are hoping to expand our street team into many teams. We will be having some projects involving teams worldwide. Do you have a record label and if not are you looking for one?

NETHERION

No, but are looking for one.

What are your plans for the future, in a year, 5 years?

NETHERION

Currently we are separated, but still working on new materials. Also trying to regroup outside Syria and do a couple of gigs. But that's for now and allows me to keep the bigger plans as a surprise.
